1. Who We Are and Scope

Venture Fleet Limited, trading as Bunker Buddies ("Bunker Buddies", "we", "us"), is the controller of personal data described in this policy. This policy applies to the Bunker Buddies iOS app, website, and related services.

We designed Bunker Buddies without advertising trackers. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-company advertising tracking.

2. Information We Collect

Account and profile

  • Name, email address, account ID, and biography
  • Profile photo, if you choose one, and account information Apple makes available when you use Sign in with Apple

Golf and social content

  • Courses, round participants, scores, round dates, scorecards, Rival selections, and Head-to-Head results
  • Follows, Buddy relationships, likes, comments, shared rounds, reports, blocks, and related social activity
  • Guest player names entered by a round scorekeeper

Purchases and communications

  • Subscription product, purchase identifier, status, expiry, and renewal state. Apple processes payment details; we do not receive your card or bank information.
  • Waitlist details, referral information, and marketing consent where you submit them on our website
  • Support messages and other correspondence with us
  • Product-notification preferences, delivery status, and a device push token used to deliver alerts you enable

Optional contact discovery

If you choose Find buddies from Contacts, the iOS app reads contact email addresses on your device and converts them into one-way fingerprints. We receive those fingerprints only long enough to return matching Bunker Buddies profiles. We do not receive or store your address book, contact names, phone numbers, or raw contact email addresses. Contacts without a matching profile stay on your device. If you choose to invite one, Apple's share sheet sends a signed Bunker Buddies referral link through the app you select; the link identifies the inviting account, not the contact.

Technical information

Our hosting and security providers may process request information such as IP address, browser or app user agent, access time, and error logs to deliver and secure the service. On web or native app surfaces where Microsoft Clarity is enabled, we may also collect page or screen visits, taps, clicks, scrolling, device and performance information, and masked session replays so we can understand usability. We do not use this information for advertising. Bunker Buddies does not request precise location or use an advertising identifier. Contact access is requested only if you actively use contact discovery. Push tokens are encrypted and a one-way token hash is stored so the service can recognize the same app installation without exposing its token.

3. Why We Use Information

We use personal data to:

  • Create and secure your account and provide sign-in codes
  • Save, sync, recover, and share golf rounds and scorecards
  • Provide social, Buddy, Rival, Head-to-Head, and subscription features
  • Process reports, enforce blocks, prevent abuse, and protect users
  • Verify subscription entitlement and restore purchases
  • Respond to support requests and service communications
  • Send marketing only where you have consented, with an unsubscribe option
  • Send optional product notifications and weekly activity summaries according to your settings
  • Measure product adoption and improve the usability and reliability of our services
  • Diagnose faults, prevent fraud, comply with law, and protect legal rights

4. Legal Bases

Where UK or European data-protection law applies, our legal bases are performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, your consent for optional profile photos and marketing, and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time, although this does not affect earlier lawful processing.

5. Sharing and Processors

We disclose data only as needed to operate the service:

  • Other users and public viewers: profile details, social content, and rounds you choose to share may be visible in the app or through a public recap link
  • Apple: Sign in with Apple and App Store subscription processing
  • Vercel: application hosting and profile-photo storage; Neon: database hosting; Brevo: transactional and consented marketing email
  • Microsoft Clarity: web and native app usage analytics and masked session replay where that service is enabled
  • Professional advisers, authorities, or a successor business where required by law or necessary to protect rights and safety

We do not sell or rent personal data.

6. International Transfers

Some providers may process data outside the UK or European Economic Area. Where required, we rely on adequacy decisions, approved standard contractual clauses, or another lawful transfer safeguard.

7. Retention and Account Deletion

We keep account and product data while your account is active and for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service. In-app account deletion removes your account and associated product data from the active service. Limited backups, security logs, transaction records, or moderation records may remain for a restricted period where necessary for recovery, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or legal claims.

Completed and terminal notification-delivery records are normally retained for 30 days for operational troubleshooting. Pending and retryable deliveries remain until resolved. This data is not retained as behavioral analytics.

Public recap links and social content associated only with a deleted account may stop working when the underlying data is deleted.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may ask us to:

  • Provide a copy of your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Delete or restrict processing of personal data
  • Provide portable data where applicable
  • Stop direct marketing or object to certain processing
  • Explain or complain about how we use personal data

9. Controls Available to You

You can edit profile information and delete your account from the app. You can block another golfer to remove the connection and hide future interaction. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link. To exercise another privacy right, contact us below. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or your local data-protection authority.

10. Security

We use technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal data, including encrypted transport, controlled production access, and authenticated account sessions. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

Bunker Buddies is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal data so we can investigate and remove it.

12. Changes

We may update this policy to reflect product, legal, or provider changes. We will publish the updated version and date here and provide additional notice when a change materially affects your rights.
